Government amendment drops S43

A government amendment to the Digital Economy Bill, drops the controversial S43 that enables orphan and extended collective licensing. Introduced today just ahead of committee and third readings in the House of Commons, Ben Bradshaw's amendment simply says "leave out Clause 43".

Does this mean we have won? Not necessarily. This amendment may be tactical to test opinion ahead of the Wash-Up and may be withdrawn if it is clear that opposition is inadequate.
