A rights-grabbing competition. Full terms and conditions are here:-
http://photos.bovril.co.uk/terms.htm
The really offensive clauses are:-
6. In consideration of the Promoter granting entrants a right to enter the Promotion, each entrant automatically grants to the Promoter and Millets an irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free, world-wide licence to use, reproduce, alter, adapt or sub-licence their submission in any media in perpetuity.
So Unilever AND Millets get to use your picture forever, whenever and for whatever they like. Want payment? Forget it.....
15. Entrants shall ensure that they have received the consent of all persons appearing in any image to the submission being used and published in the manner specified in these terms and conditions and are able to produce written copies of such permissions upon request
And you must have a model release too....
18. Entrants shall indemnify and hold the Promoter and their respective affiliates, directors agents, co-brander or other partners ("the Indemnitees") harmless from any claims, actions, proceedings, costs (including reasonable legal fees) and expenses brought or asserted by a third party against any of the Indemnitees arising as a result of the Promoter’s use of the entrant’s submission including but not limited to any breach of intellectual property rights set out in clause 16 of these terms and conditions.
And if things go wrong....you are liable
20. All entrants hereby agree to irrevocably and unconditionally waive any rights to be identified as the author of the submission and other moral rights, which they may have now or obtain in the future.
And you have to waive your moral rights......
All of this for the chance to win Millets vouchers, ranging from £10 to £500
